Radio One stations across the country will have a moment of silence to honor the life of a legend, Whitney Elizabeth Houston who left us suddenly and tragically on February 11th.

The moment of silence scheduled for Saturday, February 18th at 12 noon, is meant to reflect the void that will be left in music and popular culture with the passing of this megastar. She was a pop star, a movie star, and leaves a body of work that we, especially in radio, will cherish forever.

There are simply no words to express the sadness that is felt across the world at the loss of the woman and the voice was and is simply unparalleled. Music mogul and mentor to Whitney Houston, Clive Davis, once said that listening to Houston was like listening to magic and we at Frequency News and Radio One could not agree more.

With hits like the ‘The Greatest Love of All’, and ‘I Will Always Love You’, Houston changed the game and set the bar for all who followed her.
