Cleveland, OH- On Monday April 30, 2012, Radio One Cleveland stood proud and accepted the award of “2011 Citizen of the Year” presented by the US Marshal Service of Northern Ohio. “This partnership with the US Marshal’s office continues to re-enforce our goal of keeping our community safe, we are very thankful and honored by this award“, says Colby Tyner, OM/Radio One Cleveland. The Citizen of the Year Award is presented for extraordinary contributions to law enforcement and society. Radio One Cleveland went on air to promote The US Marshal Safe Surrender Program, encouraging fugitives to turn themselves in safely without harm. In addition to that ran a series of PSA announcements of the Marshal’s initiatives to get fugitives off the streets, programs for people who have warrants and sex offender information. “This prestigious honor is the result of our whole team effort to live by our creed – Advance the goals of our partners, and lead our communities”, says Jeff Wilson, RVP of Radio One.
