Big Bink So Fresh

It’s American Idol, X Factor, The Voice, and Dancing with the Stars season. There is music everywhere. All of the stars are doing collaborations and it seems like a new song comes out every week. After leaving the office and hopping in the Chevy for part 2 of my life, I’ve constantly had my ear on three songs that I have been killing in the car, on the iPad and the iPod.

This is what I’m feelin…

WIZ KHALIFA – WORK HARD, PLAY HARD

The first time I heard this song I really wasn’t sold. I had to listen to it about 4 times before I even noticed how he flipped his flow.  I was looking for the Old Wiz that I was accustomed to. I really believe that the “Orange Juice and Kush” mixtape was one of the best mixtapes of this decade. After the first listen I started getting the vibe from it.   “Work Hard Play Hard” will be a Banger to close out school and go into the summer. I know for sure ladies are feeling this track so it goes into Power rotation in my Serato when I’m spinning.

NICKI MINAJ – BEEZ IN THE TRAP

This is the biggest “Urban” track on her album. On this latest album she tried to capture the best of the pop and Urban world. The track already went hard but with 2 Chainz on it, the track automatically goes to the next level. (2 Chainz is probably the hottest dude in Hip Hop). Club banger, radio requested, cheerleaders doing routines to it, Sunday night parking lot pimping, you name it and I can almost guarantee you’ll hear this song almost anywhere you go.

The whole “Beez in the Trap” definition could mean a bunch of things to different people and the hook of the song is a magnet. What would take this joint to the next level (even though it will probably never happen) is to put Lil’ Kim on there for a hot remix and then put all the beef to rest. I’m telling you that would be another Historical Hip Hop moment.  Actually I’ve heard people say she’s going at Kim with this track – but I didn’t get that.

RICK ROSS AND USHER – TOUCH’N YOU

Rick Ross released the first single from his forthcoming album God Forgives, I Don’t.  The track is titled “Touch’n You” and features Usher. The thing I really like about Ross is that he will come out his comfort zone and give you different kinds of hits.  Think about these three songs that were smashes for Ross – B.M.F., Magnificent, Here I Am, – 3 totally different types of songs but they all had appeal to his fans.  This “Touch’n You” track is for the ladies and has that “78 Bonneville in the summer with the top down vibe to it.” Is it the biggest track on the album? Not sure, but it definitely is the mellowest (if that is a word).  It’s definitely a chick track though!  I can’t wait to hear the new album due out July 31st (hopefully).
