One indicator that the U.S. economy is on the upswing is an increase in home sales.  An analysis of gross ratings points through Arbitron’s Get-A-GRIP™, illustrates that spending in the real estate category was up in 10 of the 14 Radio One PPM markets during first quarter 2012.  This is a great time to target real estate and related advertisers (i.e. furniture, housewares, carpet, etc.) in your markets.  Help your listeners “roll out the welcome carpet” to a new home.

Urban Listeners Spend on Music Equipment

According to Scarborough Research, listeners to urban formatted radio stations spent an average of $436 on home music systems in the past year. They are more likely to spend 41% more in the $1000-$3000 category than the average U.S. Adult 18+.
