Nine other markets continue to carry the MRC double checkmarks. While Arbitron has continued to work on gaining accreditation for 34 other markets under electronic measurement. In other words, Arbitron has lost accreditation in five of the 14 markets where it previously earned it. Arbitron EVP Gregg Lindner says “consistent with our longstanding priorities, we will work to retain accreditation where we have it, to regain accreditation where it was withdrawn, and to achieve accreditation in our remaining PPM markets.” The ratings service is using the People Meter in a total of 48 U.S. markets, and will submit data for all those markets to the Media Rating Council in 2012.
