Quon Wilson's is a contributing writer for The Frequency. Her column Eventquisite is a term that she coined and defined as "an event marked by flawless and original craftsmanship, beauty, ingenious, or elaborate execution on a $0 budget." In the feature, Wilson writes articles that aim to teach industry professionals innovative marketing and promotional tactics to execute on a minimal to non-existent budget. Her meteoric rise from Promotions Coordinator to Promotions/ Marketing Director of Radio One property 93.9 WKYS-FM in just a year is only a glimpse of what's to come from the savvy Marketing Guru. As one of the youngest members of management at Radio One Washington DC, she is an illustration of the fresh leadership needed in today's entertainment, corporate and social landscapes. A 2007 graduate of Bowie State University, Wilson studied Nursing and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations. Wilson is also best known for her work in the HIV/AIDS prevention arena. Her guerrilla marketing approach has led her work to be featured in local and national conferences, and on the Federal Government's broadcasting network Voice of America. Some of her work and creative programming has been adopted and utilized by the Youth for Change organization in Kenya, South Africa, creating a global platform for change.
